Choice Path is a calm printable board game created for adults with aphasia, families and caregivers who want a simple way to share time, make choices and communicate without pressure. The game uses a printed board, picture cards, choice cards, object cards, music cards and answer cards, so players can respond by pointing, gesturing, choosing a card, writing, drawing or speaking if they want to.
To play, place the board on the table, cut out the cards and choose a small object as a token. Move slowly across the board using a coin: heads moves one space and tails moves two spaces. When a player lands on a space, take a card from the matching category, read it slowly and give the player plenty of time to respond in any comfortable way.
There are no wrong answers, no time limits and no need to finish the board. The goal is not to test speech, memory or knowledge, but to create a relaxed moment of choice, connection and shared attention. If a card feels too difficult, simply change the card, offer fewer options or take a pause.
